Otaku Flame

This episode of Kurenai tends to focus on Shinkurou’s relationships more than anything. True enough, this episode might be a splendid visualization of the number on relationships among the characters.

It all starts out when Tamaki and Murasaki are watching TV in Shinkurou’s room. Why Tamaki was in his room, don’t ask me, I have absolutely no idea. -.- She tells Murasaki that she’s looking for a guy who’d pamper her so that she would live an easy life. (I wonder which part of her life would be easier ). As for Murasaki, she says that such a guy is simpleminded, an idiot and she’s not sure that there’s even one around. But there is ONE around, closer than Murasaki might think…

At the same moment, at school, Shinkurou is having the time of his life with Benika calling to give him more odd jobs and with the bento that Yuuno prepared for him. Ahh, must be good to have a homemade one >.< I knew it was too good to be true for Ginko called him just after, interrupting the lovely mood that the two had built up. When Shinkurou goes to see her, she says that she called because she didn’t want to mail him and he’d probably ignore it if she did. LOL! Well, on seeing the bento in Shinkurou’s hand, she guesses immediately that it’s from Yuuno and I wonder how many times in this episode she says that Yuuno is indecent. Her hatred for Yuuno is so obvious and she doesn’t even hide it in front of her. Another mystery hoping to be solved as the series continue. Anyway, Ginko had called because she had a new job for Shinkurou and asked him to look over some photos…

In the meantime, unknown to everyone, Tamaki has brought Murasaki to Shinkurou’s school and decides to leave her there while she goes searching for the “good” man. And here starts Murasaki’s first day at school and the exploring of the campus. I thought that this part was particularly well done because it’s exactly how a seven-year old should be. Running everywhere, asking questions to anyone. She comes across an anatomical model which she thought to be a man in pain. Calling Shinkurou, she explains the situation and our dear little bodyguard thought it might just be some perverted doing of Tamaki and forbids her to touch it. LOL! She encounters Yuuno afterwards who happens to know a great deal about the Kuhouins. Hmmm… No wonder Murasaki thought she was a ‘vile’ woman =P

As for Ginko, she is explaining the job to Shinkurou saying that it’s for the principal of a kindergarten. His house was broken into and everything from his safe was stolen, leaving only one thing… The photo of his grandson,… blackmail… She then shows him the photo of a young yakuza and how he is linked to all this. After getting all what he needed, Shinkurou decides to return home… only to realise some time later that Murasaki is in school…

At the same time, Yuuno’s and Murasaki’s conversation go on, only to be interrupted by a call from Shinkurou, asking Murasaki where she is. When Yuuno finds out that it’s Shinkurou, she wants to talk to him as well, causing Murasaki to run away. And the chase begins… and it’s already over -.- when Shinkurou’s bump into the two. He explains his relationship with Murasaki. Yuuno is even depressed when Murasaki says that they live together. LOL!

On the train, Murasaki seems to be a bit jealous when she says that Shinkurou doesn’t behave the same way with Yuuno and her. He laughs more often when he’s with her. It then that we learn Shinkurou had been living at Yuuno’s place since last year and that her uncle taught him martial arts. They were again interrupted… this time by a group of boys bullying an old lady. Murasaki immediately goes to tell them off with that authoritative attitude that she has, only to have Shinkurou apologise to them, to get punched and spat so as to avoid a fight…

Shinkurou tells Murasaki never to do something reckless like that again. But Murasaki ask her about the right and wrong and why he didn’t use his martial arts if he knew how to. That was quite a bit of arguing and that’s where Shinkurou learns why she resented this so much. She explains about her mother who always put on a fake smile and apologized until the day she died… that was what the title of the episode, Faked Face referring to. At that moment, the old lady from the train steps in, asking them to shop arguing and thanks Murasaki as well.

Later in the night, Murasaki overhears one of Shinkurou’s call, and follows him as he goes to ‘work’. Yayoi informs Benika who says that it probably Ginko’s job and she doesn’t have to interfere unless an emergency…

Well, that was quite a lot of character developments in this episode. *sigh* lots of jumping around as well. We find out that Yuuno and Ginko, both have feelings for Shinkurou but the idiot doesn’t even realise that. I’m still wondering what is the relationship between the Houzuka’s(Yuuno’s family) and the Kuhouins. Nothing much about Shinkurou’s body… but I guess it’ll come.

Lol really love the part when Murasaki at Shin's school wandering around for the first time at school.. I really had a good laugh at the anatomical model part...

looking forward of the next episode, maybe the secret of Shin's arm will may be reveal..

I thought that was because they already know each other, so they hang out. Isn't it like that? I thought that was a girls thing... hehe..

Another part, I liked was the threeway conversation xD. It was hard to follow, but it was funny. :smilielol5:

I wonder why he didn't intervene as well? He has the powers, as we all know. I have a suspect his arm for not acting up. I'm sure he would bust those guys ass-es in no-time!

Well, Tamaki is supposed to be a college student. Why is she always at home... (probably doing some perverted things )

I think he didn't beat those guys up because he didn't want Murasaki to see that side of his. He can be quite violent, which wouldn't be a very good scene for a 7-year old. He even got called a 'monster' from the previous job.
